Felting is our choice fabrication for the algae because we found that filamentous algae tends to look similar to wool - or felt - when it’s fully grown.

 

The process of felting that we intend to use is wet felting, which is the use of water and agitation to bind fibers. Wool is typically used for this process to create felt fabric.
